$2,500 Maryland Spring Classic
The 3rd annual Spring Classic on Saturday was officially the largest beer pong tournament on Maryland soil. The finals featured teams representing four different states, none of which happened to be from Maryland. The $2,000 top prize went to 1 2 Punch made up of Mike Pop (NY) and Vince Bolhuis (MI) who emerged from the losers bracket and the final series in the full 4 games (video: game 1, game 2, game 3, game 4). They defeated Moment of Truth made up of Kessler (PA) and Vince Catizone (NJ) who won their way through the winners bracket. The third place finisher was Wet Ballz who gave 1 2 Punch their only blemish of the tournament when they defeated the eventual champs in the WB quarter finals. The fourth place finisher was the Mantis and MDBP's newest daddy, Tom, of Grind Time. In the consolation matches, the Chugsters defeated No Monkey Bu$iness to take 5th place and Child Please took down Hands of God for 7th. Check out the complete tournament bracket on the tournament page. Video of the finals and other select matches will be posted as soon as possible.
