It was an awesome time at the Coed Masters Satellite this past Saturday at Delia Foley's. Congratulations to We Just Wanna Dance (Anthony & Kerry) who will be dancing in Vegas after they defeated Bitch, That's Bogus to win the MOBP satellite bids. 3rd place honors went to Work With Benefits (also featuring Kerry K.) and Bye Table!. Qualifying for the State Championships with their 5th place finishes was Play Us and Parrish and Sugar Crush. Thanks to everyone who came out and made this event such a success.

First things first: Maryland Beer Pong finally won something that matters. Congratulations to Maryland United for winning the Beast of the East.

Before we begin, though, please allow myself to reintroduce myself. People affectionately call me the Barn Animal. I barely know any of the new players except for Billy Bogus, and I don't even know him really. All I know is that he is a better beer pong player than Cory D. But that's besides the point. I am just a lower-tier beer pong player that used to write blogs in this very space, before I passed...

If you weren't in New Jersey this weekend then you missed the most dominating performance in Beast of the East history as MD United were the wire-to-wire champions and take home the $12,000 purse. Maryland entered the final day as the #1 seed and defeated "no uNitY" (NY 1) and the New Jersey War Machine (NJ 1) en route to the championship.

MD United opened the tournament with a 5-0 sweep over last year's champions VABP (VA 1) and there was no looking back from there. MD United finished the day 34-1 with a +108 cup differential. Beast Mode qualified...

Maryland Beer Pong's first Masters of Beer Pong Satellite took place yesterday at Looney's Pub of Maple Lawn. Earl Smith and Ryan McAllister went undefeated to take home the bids to the world's first $100,000 tournament. They defeated the Goldtooths in the finals who won their bracket to reach the finals. Third place honors went to Don't Let Westbrook Shoot (Ryan & Andre) and Grillen Texas Style. 5th place went to Impossible Is Nothing when Austin took out Mantis in a 1-on-1 playoff. Thanks to everyone who came out on such a beautiful day for beer pong....

The Chugsters fought their way through the loser's bracket to take down the College Park State Qualifier at Cornerstone. The Chugsters struck back at Black & Tan in the finals, the team who sent them into the loser's bracket. Silky Smooth took third place after losing to the Chugsters in the loser's bracket finals. Fourth place belonged to Let's Fuckin' Plo (LFP). Ball Wetters claimed the last qualifying spot for States with a fifth place finish after beating Lincoln Logs in the consolation match.

Congratulations to 8 Dollars Short (VA) who battled back through the loser's bracket to take the $1,000 top prize at this year's Maryland Spring Classic. They avenged their only loss in the finals as they took out last year's finalists Dontchu Worry Bout Us (NJ) in two straight matches. Third place honors went to VABP (VA) who were the tournament's #1 seeded team (4-0 +18). Maryland Beer Pong's highest finisher was the aptly named MDBEERPONG.COM (Mantis & Andre). Last year's champs, Urinal Cakes, had to settle for 5th place after defeating Splash House in their consolation match....

The Charity Tournament started off with some glitches, but in the end it was Deer Antler Velvet Extract-cholics Anon. (Earl & Jordan) who went undefeated throughout the entire tourney, knocking out Don't Worry Be Happy (Dean & Matt) in the finals, who suffered both losses to the champs. In third place was Splash House (Joey & Tyler), whose losses came to the eventual 1st and 2nd place finishers. The Shruglife Boyz (Bunky & Steph) hashtagged their way to a 4th place finish, while GOOT (Bill & Greg) punched their ticket to the State...

I'm just going to cut right down to it. The pressing matter at hand is the Beast Of The East (BOTE). Squads have already begun to form and already the familiar arguments we are all so used to hearing have arisen. Arguments such as:

"Who are the top ten players RIGHT NOW?"

"But [So and so] haven't...

The 2013 Maryland Spring Classic is returning to Baltimore for 2013. After a few years on the road, the event has returned to its original home at the Horse With No Name in Canton. Although the name has changed a few times since it was Huckas back in MDBP's glory days, the 2013 version is still the premier beer pong venue in the area. This year's event will be held on Saturday, March 30th which is the last weekend in March.

We'll be giving away a guaranteed $1,000 cash prize to the winning team and then a possible $1,000 additional...
