There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He’s ordinary
With valuable iPod space dedicated to hits from Journey and Kelly Clarkson, we don’t hear very many Foo Fighters songs during Maryland Beer Pong league nights and tournaments. So I’m taking this opportunity to dedicate “My Hero” to my beer pong hero, Austin Lanham.
Watch him as he goes. There goes my hero. He’s ordinary.
It’s blasphemy, I know. Austin Lanham, the co-founder of Maryland Beer Pong and one of the world’s foremost authorities on beer pong, is nothing more than an ordinary beer pong...

Sometimes state qualifiers can seem kind of boring and uneventful. This was not one of them as the Laurel State Qualifier became one of the best in the history of Maryland Beer Pong. Before the tournament really got started, the #1 ranked Wet Ballz took a blow to their wire-to-wire aspirations by going a disappointing 0-2. Fast forward to the finals where last year's state finalists, Redonkulous, took the gold trophies defeating Foster & Jordan in the finals. It wasn't an easy road for Foster & Jordan, they had to win their way out of the loser's bracket...
With just one week left before the championship tournament, That Shit Ain't Right (8-4) is clinging on to a 3 game lead to stay on top of the standings. Obama and Biden made a statement last night going 10-2 and jumped from 5th to 2nd place. The Mittleman Magic aka Yankees Suck made their debut as a team and cleaned house, going 11-1 (including rattling off 10 straight games). Chris Mustico subbed in for the final double digit winner, Double Dragon, who came off a 3 week hiatus and finished up at 11-1. Reminder: There will be a bye...
Every month we randomly select one of the voters of our players' poll a free tournament entry. Sorry for the delay, but this month's winner is Chris Mustico of the College Park League champions, Who's In Your Mouth? Congrats to Chris. It was a unanimous decision that Wet Ballz, currently holding a perfect 14-0 record, would take the #1 ranking in the poll with 14 #1 votes. The #2 spot went to Just Give Up Now with one #1 vote. In the 1-on-1 poll, pre-knee-injury Austin Lanham squeaked out a #1 poll ranking with three #1 votes. The 2nd...
Few moments in life are as memorable as those first steps we take into manhood.
From the moment we enter this world, we are constantly reaching milestones, accomplishing goals and setting future ones. From our first steps to our first kiss, from our first love to our first heartbreak, life is riddled with new moments to appreciate. There are certain rites of passage that, as men, we celebrate. We rejoiced when we made the baseball team and chauffeured anyone and everyone around that first week we had our driver’s license. When we had our first intimate experience (disregard this one,...
The College Park Winter League came to an exciting close as Who's In Your Mouth? took home their first even tournament win over Carlton Banks who came from the loser's bracket to win the first game (video) but lose the final game (video). Then in 3rd place was Team Miller Time followed by Drunksters in 4th place. In 5th place taking the last state qualifying spot was K Combo and in 6th place was Fuck Duke. Thank you to everyone who came out to play in the 2009 College Park Winter League. Check out...
The most decorated team in Maryland Beer Pong history, Wet Ballz, added another one to the trophy case Saturday as they completed their first Winter League Championship win. They have become only the third team to capture both the regular season title and also win the League Championship Tournament. They defeated the #6 seeded Just Give Up Now in the finals (video) after an impressive run through the loser's bracket. The tournament's Cinderella Story was the performance given by the #39 seeded 5 Peez Nugget Mayne. They won their way to the winner's bracket finals...There were an unprecedented number of people who wanted a chance to compete for the year's first 1-on-1 tournament title. So much that we were forced to split into two different 32-player brackets.
In the "West Bracket" at Nobles, the older McAllister brother, Jordan went undefeated as he defeated professional beer pong player Steph in the finals. In 3rd place...
