Sadness… It’s 3:38 am on Sunday the 14th and all I feel is sadness. This blog is probably coming right after one that was just posted. It’s gotten a bit backed up because I’m relying on Austin to post it. I can’t believe Maryland couldn’t take the AC tournament. If you recall I did predict it in my first blog, but come on! I was just talking out my ass. Foster said it in his comments… Maryland hasn’t won because everyone plays with their friends. Well, you were wrong Foster. I must digress for just a moment…

Some of you...

Maryland Beer Pong fans will have to wait for Maryland's first national level championship. Through the first day of competition, it appeared that Maryland was poised to take a run at the title. MDBP supplied nine out of the top 32 teams who were rewarded with first round byes in the final day's single elimination tournament. Projectile Dysfunction led the way at 11-1, good enough for a #7 ranking. Right behind them was Get Mitch Or Die Tryin' at 12th followed by McAllister at 16th, Wet Ballz at 17th, Carlton Banks at 18th, the Chugsters at 24th, WILDCARD at 25th,...

It was almost three months ago I first wrote about the collapse of the Austin Lanham mystique. Watching the A-Train struggle on the beer pong table was a lot like watching a child with a learning disability stumble through his first Harry Potter book. The once-mighty Dixie Normous, Maryland Beer Pong’s first elite team, had become our “Sloth.” While strangers feared the once-mighty creature, we knew better.

Although it may still be “Closing Time” for the career of Jim Reiter, it seems like the story of Austin Lanham is just beginning. Again. This time, the supporting role is played by...

The Summer Frederick State Qualifier was the last tournament before the big AC tournament and the last chance for teams to practice and prepare in a real tournament environment. AC better be ready for Maryland to come in and dominate! Projectile Dysfunction came out on top tonight, once again letting everyone know that they are ready to win $25k (video). Behind them were the brothers McAllister. In 3rd place was Team Miller Time followed by Epsilon 7 in 4th place. The 5th-6th matchup was won by 5 Peez Nugget Mayne over Wee-Bey Brice. Good luck to...

The Barn Animal is taking his blogging to the next level. Next weekend at the Atlantic City Championship we'll be receiving LIVE updates on how your favorite Maryland teams are doing. Visit his new blog at http://barnanimal.blogspot.com/. Enjoy!

Welcome to the first installation of Closing Time. School has ended and I finally have a bit of time to catch up on the things I’ve been meaning to do. This blog being one of them. Let me begin by describing a bit about what this blog is about. First of all; I’m no Barn Animal… He’s creative, funny and good at beer pong. I plan on making sloppy attempts at each of them. I’m also no Austin Lanhammer. He taught me how to play (not very well) and is obviously the authority on Beer Pong. Hopefully, his blog will...

Always turned on.

That’s the ingenious marketing slogan used by The Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority. For someone like me, who will spend a couple of steamy June nights with The Mantis in the Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, “always turned on” isn’t exactly something I’m looking forward to. After my last stay in Atlantic City during Austin’s bachelor party, I think I’ve had enough of the “always turned on” offerings. Max Power agrees. “That’s my table!”

On the other hand, I have to admit I’m already a little turned on by Maryland’s chances in the $25,000 Atlantic City...

A wet and wild May wrapped up this past weekend and the results from the May Players' Poll are in. Wet Ballz continued their run as #1 in the peoples' hearts which started in December of last year. During the month of May Wet Ballz got back to their winning ways with victories at the Federal Hill WBPT Atlantic City Qualifier and the Canton Spring League Championships tallying a 13-1 record on the month. The State's #1 ranked Who's In Your Mouth? earned the #2 spot in the polls with place showings in all five tournaments they competed in including...

It was a great night of beer pong action at Mad River on Thursday. 4 Sale! battled through the consolation bracket to face the mighty Bango and Splash. In a two game finals Bango and Splash finally clinched their first ever tournament win in a double overtime thriller. Congratulations to third place Fuali, 4th place What, What? In the Cup, 5th place Flatballers, and 6th place Just Give Up Now. Check out the full bracket on the tournament page.

Bango and Splash takes home the championship
The Mantis guaranteed victory in the Canton Spring League Championships but he didn't count on the perfect game that Wet Ballz shot in the championship finals. The result was Wet Ballz' first ever Spring League Championship after defeating the defending champs, Get Mitch Or Die Tryin', in both the winner's bracket finals and for the championship. In 3rd place was the #3 seeded Random White Guy who defeated the #13 seeded Toe Jam and Earl who ended up in 4th place. The fifth and sixth place match featured #4 seeded Dixie Normous who defeated #5 seeded Who's In...
