Imagine the surprise of the sold out crowd last night at Nobles as Kessler and Deep, representatives from the New Jersey Beast of the East squad, showed up to take on the competition at the Federal Hill 1-on-1 State Qualifier. Despite the home team's best efforts, the Philadelphia native Kessler (We're in Ya Head) came out victorious after emerging from the loser's bracket and defeating Jordan McAllister in the finals (video: game 1 and game 2). Jordan (McAllister) advanced to the championship final after a nearly flawless victory over Austin Lanham (Woodshed) in the winner's bracket final. Deep (NJ) placed 4th in his first Maryland tournament despite going undefeated against local competition. The 5th & 6th place match went to #1 ranked Foster who missed the finals for the first time this year. He defeated Chris Mustico who had to settle for 6th. In the final consolation match, the Mantis defeated Bunky to take 7th place. Thanks to everyone who came out and made the Federal Hill 1-on-1 State Qualifier a huge success.
